Telugu Cinema stood in third place with its share in the film market in India after Hindi and Tamil film industry with the production of 195 movies consistently. 'Gharana Mogudu' shot in 1992 was the first Telugu movie to cross ten crore rupees collection at the box office and the movie was directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. This success boosted up the growth of commercial filmmaking in Telugu film industry. During post liberalization policies, Telugu cinema witnessed timely growth in terms of production, distribution, and exhibition which are of global standards. Telugu film directors started opting global themes whereas producers got tied-up with Hollywood production houses. Telugu cinema percolated into USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, UAE, and South Asian countries and accounted for majority share among all the overseas revenues. Telugu film industry made a partnership with the international production houses, actors and studios. Even Hollywood studio like Disney World Cinema entered co-production and distribution treaty with Telugu film industry.
