Portfolio of National Calligraphy Works Exhibition in the &quote;Confucius Art Award&quote;

In order to meet the successful convening of the 18th National Congress of the CPC, to implement the spirit of the 6th Plenary Session of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), to promote the cultural development and prosperity, to highlight the cultural characteristics of the 2012 Qufu International Cultural Festival, and to carry forward the traditional Chinese calligraphy art, sponsored by the Chinese Calligraphers Association, jointly presented by the Shandong Provincial Calligraphers Association, Chinese Calligraphy Magazine Office, CPC Jining Municipal Propaganda Department and Jining City Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the "e;Confucius Art Award"e; National Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Works Exhibition was commenced on December 20, 2011, as of July 31, 2012, the solicit contributions work has been successfully completed, totally 13,500 works were received from various provinces and cities, autonomous regions, direct-controlled municipalities and overseas. From August 9 to 10, 2012, "e;Confucius Art Award"e; assessment has been held in Jining. The Chinese Calligraphers Association organized a high-level assessment team of experts. After an equitable, open and fair selection, 9 pieces of outstanding works were selected and 301 pieces (including outstanding works) were selected into the exhibition. The exhibition will launch a grand opening at the hometown of Confucius in September 28.
