1980 - Our Generation

The book is a collection of articles by the Chinese Department of Fudan University enrolled in 1980 (8011 for short) which marks their 30th anniversary of graduation, including 82 realistic proses written by 81 students. Some of the proses recall university life in the 1980s which was characterized by sentimental and wild youth during the enlightenment period of reform and opening up and the writing and thinking style of Bei Dao and Li Zehou; while others depict their experience of struggling in the 30 years after graduation - working at government agencies, doing academic research, starting up business or immigration abroad - in pace with the national reform and opening up policy. The proses contain both failure and success, both sadness and happiness, with the theme back to meditation and tranquility in the reasonable middle age and the eternal 8011 friendship......
