Red Tile has won the National Book Award and Beijing Literature and Art Award. It is a juvenile full-length novel. From the perspective of content and life reflected in the novel, it can be regarded as a continuation of The Grass House. The novel describes the pure and honest style of rural life in the past with poetic thought and delicately records the growth process of boys and girls from being inexperienced and easily fooled to gradually understand the life from the perspective of a middle school student. The book was published in Taiwan with the book name of Red Tile-Roofed House and had the honor to win the Good books for Everyone: Award of Best Book for Children and was appraised and selected as one of the 2001 "e;Ten Good Books"e; by Korea Joong Daily and so on. In the book, Chapter IX was selected into Middle School Chinese textbooks of South Korea.
