Editorial Committee of Library of the People would like to recommend the book series of Chinese classic detective fictions which includes twenty-six cases and set seven volumes: Bao Zheng's Complicated Legal Cases, Hai Rui's Complicated Legal Cases, Liu Yong's Complicated Legal Cases, Di Renjie's Complicated Legal Cases, Shi Shilun's Complicated Legal Cases, Peng Peng's Complicated Legal Cases and Lin Zexu's Complicated Legal Cases. The word, "e;Gong'an"e;, originally refers to the desk that officials used to hear cases in old days. A detective fiction is a story written about the process that the case criminal committed a crime and the officials cracked, settled and closed the criminal case in old days. It is a genre of old novels.
