Under the Sea-Wind

Bok av Rachel L Carson
Under the Sea-Wind is the first work of Richel Carson, the greatest American natural writer. It was written twenty years earlier than Silent Spring. This work is full of fresh vitality and is like both poem and prose work. It enables us to understand the flow and cycle of life on the edge of the sea, as well as the endless beauty and mystery of the ocean, seabirds and fishes. Then it became a benchmark of natural writing for later generations. In her book, Carson writes from the perspective of living beings. Through constant change of vision, she depicts the overall coastal environment and the lively and complete appearance of marine life. The life stories written down are profound and meaningful, just like the sea-wind that never stops blowing the coast for thousands of years and remains unchanged forever.
