The gender-sensitive indicators for media was put forward at "e;Women Make the News"e; campaign annually held by the UNESCO in early 2010, and was officially launched in 2012. These indicators are primarily used to effectively assess or diagnose relevant areas of the UNESCO's media development. The Media and Female Book Series-- Gender-Sensitive Indicators for Media: A Gender-Sensitive Index Framework for Measuring Media Operations and Media Contents is a Chinese version of the media gender-sensitive indicators book series.
