About the book: Zhou Libo (1908~1979), born in Yiyang, Hunan, was originally known as Zhou Shaoyi, Zhou Fengxiang or Zhou Zhenwu, whose pen name is Libo, Zhang Yike or Zhang Shangbin.In 1926-1927, he studied in the First High School of Changsha, Hunan. In 1928, he went to Shanghai with friend Zhou Qiying. He learnt English by himself and studied in the Department of Economics, Academy of Social Sciences of Shanghai Labor University, during which, he started the literary creation and translation. He was expelled from the school for participation in the left-wing activities.Then, he took the job of proofreading in Guoguang Society.In 1932, he was arrested for the participation in the strike. In 1934, he joined the Association of Left-Wing Writers after being released from prison and the Communist Party of China.During his work in the party-related work of Association of Left-Wing Writers, he was the editor of Weekly Literature and wrote nearly 60 comments on left-wing writers and foreign advanced writers as well as special articles on literary. He also made over 100,00o words of translations and several prose and poems.
