The Gourgion Tower

Bok av Frans Zammit Haber
The seventeenth-century Gourgion Tower in Gozo was unque in the Maltese archipelago and was of great interest with its many stone drop-boxes, heraldic shields, and slender domed staircase tower. It was completely obliterated during the war in 1942 to make a temporary landing-ground for aircraft. It is not known whether any architectural detail has been preserved.
